Julie Jorgensen began working at the library in 1998 assisting with summer reading before becoming assistant librarian. Julie has been director since 2012 and has her Level I Public Librarian Certification from the Nebraska Library Commission. She is a lifelong resident of Waterloo and lives in the country with her husband Dana where they raised their three children, Käj, Dane and Hanna. Julie enjoys spending time with family and as a first-time grandma, loves anytime she can spend with her grandson Rhett. Julie also enjoys finding new acquisitions for her book collection by rummaging through new and used book store

Bethany Barelman has joined our library staff as an Assistant.  Bethany is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a bachelors in Psychology and of Fort Hays State University with a master's in School Psychology. She has recently started the Public Librarian Certification Program through the Nebraska Library Commission. Bethany's interests include reading and traveling.
